WDSL 11A vs Ardmore
"The U11 Wicklow Leage A team got off to a winning start in their Shield campaign in an entertaining and exciting game, complete with controversy. They were up against Ardmore A and the first 10 minutes were very tight. Craig Kenny broke the deadlock from a tap-in after a Stephen Kilduff shot. Jack Ryan soon made it 2-0 with a great shot from a very narrow angle. Ardmore scored from a free kick to make it 2-1 at half time. Early in the second half Drew Campbell won a free kick near the Ardmore box but when the offending player threw the ball back at Drew he was shown a red card and Drew picked up a yellow. Drew scored from the free on the second attempt, after the referee made him retake it. Shortly afterwards James Clark scored a great goal chipping the keeper. Then as sometimes happens when teams go down a man, Ardmore started to fight back – 4-2, then 4-3. James got a second goal to make it 5-3. Then there was a penalty awarded against Greystones, but it was 5-4 to Greystones at the final whistle" .. Alan Kilduff, Manager.
